News you can use on robo calls

Wednesday, Jul, 2 2014

CLICK HERE to get to the link I talk about on the Wednesday PhilCast about avoiding robo calls.

This has the information about the sit tone that this guy suggests you use in order to trick those nasty robots into thinking yours is NOT an active number...then they move on and don't bother you any longer.

Not sure it works, but you may want to give it a try.

Taxing wheels in Appleton

Tuesday, Jul, 1 2014

So Appleton is considering a $20.00 annual wheel tax now. Great, more money out the window for roads with potholes in them.

It's user-based.

Those who use the roads pay for the roads, not property owners via special assessments.
I get that part.

But I'd be worried about paying BOTH down the road if this is approved.

And does this mean that motorcycles and bikes will end up paying too? They both use the roads as well. What about pedestrians? They cross the roads all the time while walking. Perhaps we need to come up with a pro-rated system here.

Watching, even manipulating you on line

Monday, Jun, 30 2014

4th of July week is here and we kick off the four-day PhilCast week with rough weather expected Monday afternoon and into the evening. Luke Sampe at Storm Team 5 will be keeping us updated throughout the show.

Also today:

--Facebook was not only monitoring some of you a while back, but was manipulating you by screening what you were able to see. I'll explain.

--Racist paint colors?
Maybe. At least some of the names are being challenged now in court.

--And how more and more employers are keeping track of where you are at ALL times, not just when you are on the clock.

Pageant controversy

Friday, Jun, 27 2014

There's only one thing I like more than a pageant, and that's beauty pageant controversy!

And we've got one making news today.

She's in tears, and we'll listen on the Friday PhilCast.

Whose fault is it?

As usual, I've got a strong opinion on the answer to that.

First-hour of the PhilCast today.

Fired over a muffin

Thursday, Jun, 26 2014

I understand the business has rules.

I understand an employee violated a minor rule.

I even understand that he did it more than once.

But I still so not understand why he was fired, even though the company had every right to do so.
That still doesn't make it right.

I've got the story first thing today on the Thursday PhilCast....IF you have enough attention span left after World Cup fever today.
