Plans of mice and broadcasters
Over 30 years as a broadcaster. You think you've seen it all. Nope. Here's the scoop on WI Farm Tech Days and the live PhilCast that wasn't Tuesday.

Once this sky moved in we thought there might be issues with us having set up a complete studio outside under a tent. That's because the tent felt like it was about to blow away at times when this blew in.
I had driven all the way to New London from Milwaukee Tuesday morning and spent a couple of very HOT hours getting the lay of the land along with a couple of recorded interviews.
At least I scored a PhilCast exclusive one-on-one with Governor Scott Walker which was pretty funny.
We had about a half-dozen guests lined up to join me live from 3-5 from there Tuesday. In fact when the voice came on the loudspeaker announcing that due to weather the grounds needed to be evacuated immediately I was sitting there talking to one of the owners of the land this monster of a show is being held on. He said to me, "Well, I guess the interview is canceled." Yup.
Two golf cart rides and a bus ride later I got to my parked car and joined the mass exit...only to have to drive through a driving rain at times as I headed back to the radio station in Appleton.
Turns out not eating a thing all day (not a thing) left me really hungry too. At 7:00-ish I finally sat down to eat....TWICE. I'll tell the story on the show today after the Brewers' game on WHBY.
