Rare weekend blog

It dawns on me that I failed to post a fresh blog on Friday. My bad. I have a personal rule to  keep things fresh here by writing at least one new blog per day during the work week. Although I must be honest, my email box wasn't jammed with hordes of people who were disappointed at the lack of a Friday post!

Still, I feel I am making up for it by taking a break from my busy Saturday to post something about nothing.

What happened to the sun I was expecting Saturday? Instead of a long bike ride as planned I got myself into some projects around the new house, where I am alone with the dog for the weekend.

Somehow while unpacking another dozen boxes of stuff (most of which is old radio stuff for my home office) I managed to hurt my back. Once again there was no heavy lifting involved at all. How many times  has his happened to you? You reach down and suddenly out of nowhere you  collapse on the floor in pain! That's how it happened and all I was doing was leaning down to place an old radio on a shelf.

I few pills later and I'm still getting around....slowly. I've had worse.

So after a half day of working on and cleaning up the house, it's break time before heading out.
I'll be posting pictures from Rico's Family Restaurant classic car show in Freedom today . Then after that stop it's a quick spin through the Mile of Music in downtown Appleton. And after that, if I can still walk, I'm stopping in at a neighborhood party I was invited to so I can meet some of my new neighbors.

It's odd living apart from my wife this summer, but there is no shortage of things to keep me busy until she finally is able to leave her job in Waukesha and join me here in the Fox Valley.

Maybe I'll have some interviews from my adventures to play for you during the "HowzYer Weekend?" segment on the Monday PhilCast.

How come when other players do something like this I hate it, but when OUR guy does it it's funny?…
