Was Yuna Kim robbed?

Turns out there is an uproar over the results of the women's figure skating finals, won by a Russian named Adelina Sotnikova....with perhaps the help of a Russian judge with connections?

An on-line petition is gaining steam to have the entire process reviewed. Now of course, nothing will come of this, but it does make you wonder.

I personally thought that Yuna Kim, seen at the right here, should have defended her last gold and won the thing. The judges didn't see it that way.

This is nothing new. It has happened in this sport before. An athletic skater who nailed more jumps and received more technical points takes home the gold rather than the more-artistic skater who did almost as many jumps.

It's just the nature of how the sport works.

Maybe someday they can come up with some sort of robotic eye that watches and then scores the skater based on the data that was entered on the program ahead of time. Who knows?

But until then, this stuff is subjective and subject to controversy.
