Heroin has been a drug of choice in northeastern Wisconsin, but
there's evidence methamphetamine is making a comeback.  MEG
Unit Project Manager Brad Dunlap discusses how serious the
problem has become in a 13-minute Q&A.
You'll find the report on our website, whby.com, under Audio Vault
and Assignment Fox Cities.  Dunlap shares his concerns about
meth and its effects on our communities.
The data Dunlap provides are eye-opening and should be of
concern to all of us.

Samantha Schroth of Greenville suffered a paralyzing injury in a
freak accident while at a cottage in northwestern Minnesota in
May of 2013.   Spending time with friends, shortly after graduating
from the University of Minnesota, a large tree branch fell on her,
leaving her a paraplegic.
Undaunted, Sam, as most people call her, went on to capture
Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin and Ms. Wheelchair America 2015.
Originally headed for a career as a veterinarian, Sam has
changed course.  She's applying to medical schools and wants
to become a physician treating people with spinal cord injuries.
Sam's inspiring story is set for broadcast on WHBY, Monday,
September 22nd, at 6:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
When you hear Sam's story, you, too, will be inspired.

Samantha Schroth of Greenville was crowned Ms. Wheelchair America 2015 during a
ceremony in August in Long Beach, California.   It's a crown she wears proudly as an
advocate for the 54 million people living with a disability.
Samantha suffered a paralyzing injury in May, 2013, shortly after graduating from the
University of Minnesota with a degree in animal science.   A large tree branch fell on her
during an outing with friends at a cottage in northwestern Minnesota.
Samantha's story is one of hope and determination, for herself and others.  In her words:
Life is what you make it.  She plans to make life awesome from a "seated position."
Samantha, most people call her Sam, was on a career path to become a
veterinarian.  After suffering a paralyzing injury, Sam is changing course.  She is applying
to medical schools and wants to work with patients who suffer spinal cord injuries.
You can hear Sam's inspiring story on our website, whby.com, under Audio Vault
and Assignment Fox Cities.

September has been designated National Emergency Preparedness
month, a month set aside to remind residents of personal responsibility
in the event of an emergency.   Those emergencies could include
severe weather, summer or winter,  fires or hazardous material spills,
forcing people from their homes or businesses.
Outagamie county Emergency Management Interim Director
Christina Muller recommends residents develop plans of action in
case a plan has to be implemented.
That includes communication among family members, emergency kits
of personal necessities, and what to do if an emergency strikes.
Muller discusses plans in an Assignment Fox Cities, in the process
of being produced.  Although September is designated as a preparedness
month, the same rationale applies year-round.

Toward the end of last year's Green Bay Packers season, I produced an
Assignment Fox Cities on Outagamie County Judge John Des Jardins
being a member of the "chain gang."
Well, the judge is at it again, I believe for his 14th season, when the
Packers take-on the Kansas City Chiefs at Lambeau Field tonight.
If you heard the story online in January, you may have found it interesting,
humorous, and perhaps would like to hear it again.  If you haven't  heard
the judge's account of what it's like working the sidelines of Packers'
home games, it's posted on our website, whby.com, under Audio Vault
and Assignment Fox Cities.
The judge is short in stature.  What's it like standing among the
"giants" of the NFL?    Get the inside story from the judge.
