Green Bay Ald. Chris Wery says Appleton's city council knew what the community wanted and needed at Erb Park, and members went ahead with a new new pool.
In Green Bay last night, the city council failed to override a veto by Mayor Jim Schmitt on the Colburn Pool project. That puts the future of the Olympic-sized facility in jeopardy.
Wery says supporters of the project put together a plan to generate more revenue.

Last week, Schmitt vetoed a move to borrow an additional $2.3 million for Colburn Pool.
