A panel of three federal judges will be mulling the fate of Brendan Dassey.
They heard arguments from attorneys, during a hearing in Chicago yesterday. A federal judge threw out Dassey's conviction last August for the murder of Teresa Halbach.
The special prosecutor for the trial, Ken Kratz, was there. He says they'll sit and anxiously await the decision.
The three-judge panel didn't set a timeline for making a ruling.
A jury found Dassey guilty of Halbach's 2005 murder. A federal judge says investigators acted inappropriately, while they interviewed Dassey, and one of his lawyers was ineffective.
Dassey's uncle, Steven Avery, is also appealing his conviction.
