The Appleton school district's 4-K program is in its fourth year, and parents can start signing up their kids for the fifth year in the fall.

Program director Suzette Preston says they partner with day cares and other programs in the community to house the program. She says there are 20 of those sites, and four in-school locations.

Preston says kindergarten teachers and elementary school principals are noticing a difference with students that went through the 4-K program.
