Construction crews on the expo center in downtown Appleton passed a milestone in recent days.
They finished pounding the final pilings into the ground for the outer edge of the building.
Appleton facilities director Dean Gazza says they'll build the concrete walls next to those pilings, and fill in the gap between them with stone. He says the pilings to hold back the ground, so it's not putting pressure on the actual walls of the facility
Gazza says they want to start pouring concrete sometime next month. The goal is to open the expo center in late November.
