Two Kimberly high school students are in trouble for two social media posts that police are treating as a threat.
Officer Michael Lambie says one of the pictures on Instagram showed a student holding an assault-type rifle. The other was of Columbine high school, and the two shooters from that attack.
Lambie says investigators determined that there was not a credible threat. He says regardless of whether people think it's a joke, threat, or stunt, school districts and police departments are going to take instances like that very, very seriously.
Lambie says they're working with the Outagamie County district attorney's office to determine if the teens should face criminal charges.
He says the gun was an air-soft rifle.
