Some drivers on one of Appleton's busiest streets might be a little surprised to see that a stretch is closed for construction.
The biggest traffic impacts for the S. Oneida Street project started this morning. The road is shut down from Calumet Street, south to Wilson Avenue.
Public works director Paula Vandehey says drivers will be able to access businesses, but the street is closed to thru traffic.
Oneida Street will be rebuilt from the Skyline Bridge to Midway Road over the next two years. Vandehey says they're going to do the work in different segments this year.
She says they'll update the closures....on the "Road Report" on the city's website.
