The suspect in a double murder in Hobart will stand trial.
A Brown County court commissioner ruled this morning that there's enough evidence to order a trial for 26-year-old Jacob Cayer of Ashwaubenon. He's charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the stabbing deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her mother, in June of last year.
Twenty-five-year-old Sabrina Teague and 63-year-old Heesun Teague were killed at their home. home. Sabrina's boyfriend was also stabbed, and he survived.
Cayer's case was on hold for several months because of questions over whether he was competent to stand trial. Last month, a judge determined that Cayer is able to help with his own defense.
Court records show Cayer has a history of domestic violence. He's faced charges for incidents involving two other women.
