This summer's Mile of Music festival will have more performances.
Co-founder Dave Willems helped unveil the first 50 artists late this morning, at Outer Edge Stage in downtown Appleton. He says they expect to have about the same number of artists, with around 230.
Willems says they might have around 1,000 performances, but to be safe, they're estimated over 900 over the four days, right now.
The festival will run from August 3-6.
The largest outdoor venue, Jones Park, is closed this year because of the construction of the expo center. Willems says they're working with the city and Lawrence University to set up two new outdoor stages to help offset that.
The first 50 artists includes 30 new singers and bands. The 20 returnees include LOLO, Wild Adriatic, and Me Like Bees.
