Investigator wants to close child picture loophole
0 0

An investigator for the Brown County sheriff's department is weighing in on a proposal to close a loophole in child enticement laws.

Lt. Jim Valli says they see cases of adults asking children to send sexually explicit pictures. Unless a child actually sends a picture, he says they can't do anything about it.

Valli says a predator could use a chat room or social media to ask 100 children for pictures, in hopes that at least one will send one.

A proposal from Republican Rep. Andre Jacque of De Pere would create a misdemeanor crime for adults asking children for sexually explicit pictures.

Valli and other investigators let Jacque know about the issue.
