Tech college tuition freeze removed from budget
0 0

The Legislature's budget committee is dumping Governor Walker's plan to freeze tuition at technical colleges.

Walker was going to give an extra $5 million in state funding to the schools, to help offset the lost revenue. The committee wants to spend that money on grants for technical college students.

Rep. John Nygren is a co-chair of the panel. The Marinette Republican says technical college tuition is already a good bargain.
