An Ashwaubenon police officer is improving after he was hit by a suspected drunk driver last Saturday night.
The police department says Officer Brian Murphy isn’t in critical condition anymore. The 34-year-old is still in a hospital and the department can’t release any more information because of privacy reasons.
Murphy was directing traffic on I-41 South near Waube Lane because of a vehicle fire.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kalin McGuire of Greenleaf is charged with two felony counts.
Prosecutors say she was heading home from a wedding reception with her husband and young son when she hit Murphy with an SUV.
They say her blood-alcohol level was nearly 0.13.
