The Community First Champion Center is ready to open, and there are hopes the facility will bring people to the area, not just for sports.
Pam Seidl of the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau says youth teams from around the region will be playing there, and they think families will enjoy the area. She believes they’ll come back to visit in the future, to check out other destinations.
There was a private ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon for the more than $30 million facility in Grand Chute. It’s expected to generate more than $8 million a year in tourism spending.
The community will get a chance to tour the Champion Center tomorrow, during an open house. It will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
