APPLETON, Wis. — A fatal crash involving a shoplifting suspect allegedly fleeing Grand Chute police will not be classified as an “officer involved death.”
The Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office makes that conclusion after reviewing initial crash reports.
According to investigators, officers approached the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot of Fleet Farm after a report of retail theft on Jan. 3. The suspect took off, crashing into another vehicle along N. Bluemound Drive and suffering fatal injuries.
An investigation into that crash continues.
