Wisconsin deer hunters found more success in the woods during the gun season.
The Wisconsin DNR reports 188,712 whitetails were registered during the nine-day hunt.
That is better than last year but still slightly below the numbers seen in 2018.
Hunters in the southern half of the state had better success than those up north.
