About one-third of the Oakridge Gardens building has extensive damage, after yesterday’s fire.
Fox Crossing Fire Chief Brian Harbison says parts of the roof on the western side are completely compromised. He says the fire started on the roof, and it got into the attic spaces.
He’s praising the staff for getting everyone out safely.
Harbison says the smoke alarms went off, but the sprinkler system didn’t work well because of insulation in the attic.
He estimates there’s $250,000 in damage.
