A group is trying to help small businesses in rural areas that are owned by women, and racial and ethnic minorities.
The Wisconsin Women’s Businesses Initiative Corporation is offering funding to help them get through the pandemic. The businesses have to be in Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, or Waupaca counties.
Regional Project Director Julie Stoffel says they can get up to $5,000 for things like payroll, rent, mortgage, and personal protective equipment for workers.
Businesses can start applying tomorrow. Overall, $30,000 is available.
The money is from the COVID-19 Community Response Fund, from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities.
