The numbers are down considerably in the just completed gun deer hunt in Wisconsin.
The DNR reports 161,000 whitetails were harvested over the nine-day season.
That is down by 25 percent from last year.
Big Game Ecologist Kevin Wallenfang says the weather played a big part in that.
Buck numbers were off by 29 percent this year, while the antlerless harvest was down by 21 percent.
