Staff from schools around the state and emergency responders are trying to learn one of the most common plans for evacuating schools.
They spent time in Oshkosh, hearing about a standard response protocol and a reunification method.
Glenn Rehberg of the Wisconsin Office of School Safety says the system has been shown to be nationally effective. He says it’s been adopted by about 30,000 schools around the country.
Hundreds are finding out about the difference between commands like lockout, lockdown, and shelter. Administrators and teachers plan to pass along what they learned at their schools.
