A group of students in Suamico is helping clean up the graves of veterans just in time for Memorial Day.
Eighth graders from Bay View Middle School cleared headstones at the Suamico Cemetery. They’re also placing flowers and flags on the graves. Some of them date back to the Civil War.
Chris Vannieuwenhoven is one of the volunteers. He says he knows it means a lot to veterans.
About 100 students participated in the project.
