Oshkosh property taxpayers are funding more private school vouchers this year.
School District Superintendent Vickie Cartwright says the money coming out of their tax levy increased substantially this year. She says the tax rate went up 29 cents per-thousand dollars of value. She says additional vouchers account for 14 cents of that.
Cartwright thinks most of the new voucher students were already going to private schools, and they didn’t transfer out of public schools.
