DOT putting cable guard along Hwy. 172

Construction crews will be spending the next couple of months along Highway 172 in the Green Bay area.

DOT spokesman Mark Kantola says they're putting cable guard in the median to stop cars from crossing into oncoming traffic. He says they're trying to prevent high-impact, head-on crashes.

Kantola says construction will take place mostly at night to reduce traffic delays.

Work will be done Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Crews started last night, and they're expected to be done in September.
