News » Doyle: School funding change won't solve issues
Sept. 2, 2010 As many school districts across the state continue to struggle financially, there are renewed calls for lawmakers to change the system for funding education.
Governor Doyle says that won't necessarily solve the problem though. He says they don't have any new money to work with, so they would only be taking more from certain areas and less from others.
Doyle says it's impossible to find a perfect formula for education funding and he'd rather see efforts focused on finding new ways to help financially struggling schools.
Doyle visited a Madison elementary school yesterday. He also credited the federal education jobs bill for helping districts cope with the recession. |
