News » Police adding patrols in school zones
Sept. 1, 2010 Now that school is back in session, police officers are keeping a close eye on school zones.
Appleton police Sgt. Pat DeWall says most school zone speed limits are 15 mph and extra officers are on patrol this week enforcing them. He says drivers need a reminder that students are back in class.
DeWall says officers will also be enforcing seatbelt laws.
He says drivers need to be extra cautious near schools because kids might dart into traffic, and there will be a lot more bikes on the road. |
