News » State still tops for cheese production
Sept. 7, 2010 Wisconsin continues to be the top cheese-maker in the nation, and award-winner as well.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Bill Bruins says the Badger State produces more than 600 types of cheese.
At a recent national competition, cheese from Wisconsin took nearly a third of the awards. That includes Uplands Cheese in Dodgeville winning "Best of Show" with its extra-aged Pleasant Ridge Reserve. |
