News » Minorities getting hit harder by H1N1
Jan. 13, 2010 Public health officials are going to reach out to more minorities, in hopes that they'll get the H1N1 vaccine.
Last fall, minorities were treated at hospitals much more often. Appleton public health director Kurt Eggebrecht says the city isn't facing that same problem. He says that's because they've worked for years with local minority groups, especially the Hmong, to talk about health issues.
Eggebrecht says they also have interpreters at clinics to help people understand and fill out the necessary forms. |
