A state lawmaker says a proposal to give illegal immigrants a drivers license sends a bad message.
Rep. Scott Suder says if someone isn't here legally, they shouldn't get special privileges. The Abbotsford Republican says it will also place an additional burden on the DMV, which is already cutting staff and services hours.
A similar proposal was removed from the state budget last year. Suder says a group of Democrats is trying to bring it back. |
