News » Lawsuit filed after AMC boiler explosion

Jan. 27, 2010
An Appleton man who suffered serious injuries in a boiler accident last October filed a civil lawsuit yesterday against the contractor who was trying to fix the equipment.

Daniel Quaintance was working in the maintenance department of Appleton Medical Center when a boiler exploded. His attorney is Joe Troy of Habush, Habush and Rottier. He says Quaintence was hit by a piece of the boiler and received several skull and facial fractures, brain damage, and he still has physical limitations.

The contractor who was working on the boiler, Burcon Services of Green Bay, and their insurance companies are named in the lawsuit.  Troy says if proper safety procedures were followed, the explosion may have been avoidable.
