News » Court records shed light on Jaeger's death
Jan. 28, 2010 Court records shed more light on how a Chilton woman's body was found east of Brillion, and how her longtime boyfriend may be connected to her death.
A probable cause statement filed in Manitowoc County says two men who hunt with 51-year-old Roger Rosenthal followed sled tracks in the snow on their hunting land, and found 39-year-old Michelle Jaeger's body.
Rosenthal is in the Manitowoc County jail on a $50,000 bond and prosecutors plan to charge him later this week with hiding Jaeger's body.
The men say they saw the tracks last Tuesday, in an area where Rosenthal typically parked his car when he went hunting, and they led to the area where he usually hunted. That's where they say they found a sled with what looked like a body on it, covered with snow and branches.
Investigators say Jaeger's body was in a bag and she suffered blunt force trauma to the back of her head.
When investigators searched Rosenthal's house, they say they found the same bags, as well as similar ratchet straps and red twine that were used to tie Jaeger's body to the sled. |
