News » 2009 not as tough on NE Wis. businesses

Jan. 29, 2010
Northeast Wisconsin businesses are faring better than others.

All business sectors in Wisconsin posted losses in 2009, but a survey of business owners in northeast Wisconsin, Milwaukee and the Madison area show businesses here fared the best.  The First Business Bank survey also shows that business owners in our area are more optimistic about the future.

Mickey Noone is the president of First Business Bank's northeast region. He says many business owners feel the worst of the recession is over, but recovery could be a slow process.

But Noone says very few northeast Wisconsin companies plan to cut employees or wages in 2010.
