Small businesses would have greater access to loans, under a measure passed by the state Assembly this week. 
Assembly Majority Leader Tom Nelson says a lot of small companies are having a tough time getting the loans they need to expand. He says the proposed partnership between the state and lenders would free up some of that money.
The Kaukauna Democrat says for every dollar the state provides, private lenders will loan $37. He says the state's portion of the loan program would be capped at $350,000 a year. Nelson says it's worth the money because when businesses expand they hire more people.
The Senate hasn't voted on the measure yet. |
