News » Police: Woman fell from second-story door

Feb. 1, 2010
Appleton police say the 46-year-old woman who was found dead outside of a home near the city's downtown fell from a second-story doorway.

Sgt. Pat DeWall says right now, they believe Kelly Marquardt's death was an accident. He says detectives are still wrapping up their investigation.

DeWall says it appears that the door led to what used to be a second-story porch, or that the homeowner was planning to build one.

Police were called to the home in the 800 block of W. Harris Street around 4:30 a.m. last Thursday. Marquardt's body was in the backyard, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
