News » Study: Bicycling has $1.5 bil impact in Wis.

Feb. 2, 2010
Recreational biking generates one and a half billion dollars in Wisconsin every year. That's according to a study that shows cycling has the same economic impact on the state as deer hunting.

Dave Muench of Fox Cities Greenways says Wisconsin is the No. 2 cycling destination in the country, behind Washington State.

Muench says cyclists can enjoy hills, plains forested areas and waterfronts as they ride through Wisconsin. He says we also have a well-developed trail system which continues to grow and benefit the state.

Muench says Fox Cities Greenways is dedicated to improving the trail system in our area. Graduate students from the UW-Madison Nelson Institute worked on the study.
