News » Group warns about Super Bowl bets

Feb. 6, 2010
A lot of people are laying down bets on tomorrow's Super Bowl game, and for some, it can lead to trouble. That's according to Rose Gruber of the Green Bay-based Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling.

Gruber says for most people, betting on an event like the Super Bowl is "fun." With gambling addicts, it's not though.

She says it's very much a high if they win, but they sink to some pretty deep depths when they lose. And, Gruber says they do lose most of the time.

She says it's probably the most active time of the year for sports gamblers, with the NCAA basketball tournament in March coming up as well.
