News » Ad campaign tries to bump church attendance

Feb. 16, 2010
A new ad campaign from the Green Bay Catholic Diocese is aimed at getting more people to attend Sunday services.

Kristina DeNeve is the diocese's spirituality and evangelization director.  She says the ads started airing on Sunday and they will continue through Easter.

DeNeve says national studies show that going to church isn't as important to people as it used to be, and officials hope the ads prompt people to give church another try.

DeNeve says a similar ad campaign in Arizona led to a 17 percent increase in church attendance.  She says church officials would love to see similar results here.
