News » Lawmakers approve psych testing for police
Feb. 26, 2010 A bill requiring psychological testing for police officer candidates passed the Assembly yesterday.
Outagamie County Sheriff Brad Gehring supports the measure. He says Outagamie County has used psychological testing since the early 1990's and it has red flagged some candidates were not mentally suited for police work.
Lawmakers have been pushing for the testing since an off duty Forrest County sheriff's deputy killed six young people at a party in Crandon.
The bill now moves to the Senate. |
