News » State senator targets ads for mail-in rebates
Mar. 22, 2010 Businesses in Wisconsin might have to stop advertising sale prices that include mail-in rebates.
Sen. John Lehman of Racine is proposing the ban. He says a provision would ensure that customers pay the advertised price, up front, even if a rebate is involved.
Lehman says it's frustrating for people to have to fill out forms and wait to get a check in the mail.
He says over the last three years, the state consumer protection department fielded more than 400 complaints about mail-in rebates. |
