News » Obama makes Labor Day stop in Milwaukee
Sept. 7, 2010 In order to maintain the nation's highway infrastructure, and expand high-speed rail, President Obama plans to spend about $50 billion over the next six years.
The President announced the proposal yesterday during a Labor Day speech in Milwaukee.
The president says they'll create jobs by rebuilding 150,000 miles of roads, building and maintaining 4,000 miles of rail, and rebuilding 150 miles of airport runways.
He plans to pay for it. by getting rid of tax breaks for gas and oil companies, as well as multinational corporations. |
