Next week, voters in Winnebago County will narrow the field from five candidates to two in the race for judge of one of the county's circuit court branches.
Court commissioner David Keck is in the running for Judge William Carver's spot on the bench. Keck says he currently handles bond hearings...and many of the other duties of a regular judge. He became a court commissioner in 2006.
Keck says he also helped create monthly legal assistance clinics at three libraries, as well as a program that provides free legal representation for domestic abuse victims.
The primary election is Feb. 16 and the top two vote-getters will move on to the April general election. |
