News » DOT picks spot for Wrightstown bridge

Sept. 1, 2010
DOT officials say they've decided where to build the new Highway 96 bridge in Wrightstown.

Spokesman Kim Rudat says after 3-1/2 years of planning, they're going to build it south of the current bridge.  He says it's the plan that the Wrightstown village board supported, and it will not disrupt a neighborhood north of the bridge.

The bridge will start at a roundabout at the intersection of Broadway and Main Street, cross the Fox River and the Plum Creek flood plain, and end at a roundabout at Fair Street and Highway 96.

Rudat says there may also be a path leading from the bridge to the downtown area.

Construction on the $29 million project is expected to start in 2014.
