News » Feingold called for end in Iraq 5 years ago
Sept. 1, 2010 The end of combat operations in Iraq is something that a Wisconsin lawmaker has been calling for, for some time.
U.S. Senator Russ Feingold says five years ago, he was the first lawmaker to suggest a timeframe for removing troops from the country. At the time, Feingold says it wasn't a very popular idea, but it worked.
Now, Feingold says it's time to put together a timeline to remove troops from Afganistan.
The Democratic lawmaker will face the winner of this month's GOP primary in the November election. Business owners Ron Johnson and David Westlake are the two Republicans in the race. |
