On-Air » Bill Sebastian » Bio
Birthplace: Chicago
Education: What? I need an education to do this? Okay, okay. How about St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Family: This is classified information. However, I will admit that I had parents. I have no children. I've got a brother in LaCrosse and a sister in Denver. I have a girlfriend. There are aunts and uncles and cousins living in the Fox Cities. A few of them even admit that we're related.
What I Like About My Job: I like to talk with listeners. They open my mind to concepts that I have never even considered before. Occasionally, they convince me that I am wrong. But mostly, they get me thinking and considering old problems from new perspectives. Our listeners have also been one of my biggest surprises in working with WHBY. Their level of academic curiosity is far more impressive than I would have ever guessed. They really work at understanding our world. Very, very impressive.
Favorite Activities and Interests: Beyond politics? Mountain biking, fishing, camping, skiing, and watching my cousin's daughter kick butt in the pool at Neenah High.
Favorite Music: Everything from the Beatles & Stones to Eminem and Kanye West. I even attend the occasional opera. My taste in music is more about the artistry than the genre.
Favorite Movies: Wizard of Oz, The Godfather, Empire of the Sun, Legends of the Fall, The Dark Knight, Alien, Predator, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Apocalypse Now, and Pulp Fiction.
Favorite TV Shows: NCIS (just like CSI, but with more letters), South Park, everything on the History Channel, and about half of the National Geographic Channel.
Favorite Books: Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Animal Farm, Slaughterhouse Five, Grapes of Wrath, Guns Germs & Steel, The New Testament, Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone.
Little known fact about you: I want to write the Great American Novel.
Favorite Moment In Radio: I was in Rock & Roll radio at the time. There were no arrests. And no minors were involved. (as far as I know)
Anything else you think we should know: No. I think I've said enough already.
