Birthplace: Northeast Iowa - I have been in the Fox Valley since 1995.

Education: Audio Engineering training from The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH; The rest of it came mainly the school of hard knocks. I got the majority of my education growing up poor and on a beef farm, and I wouldn't trade a minute of that educational experience, because it has made me what I am today. Life hands you tough times and good times. Every one of them is a learning experience...what you actually learn is up to you.

Family: Three awesome girls, Skylar, Alexis, & Tavja. Spoiled rotten little daddy's girls. They are my entire world! One survived chemotherapy and I thank God every day for each that I have them. I also have an older brother, an older sister and younger brother. All are married and have provided me with some incredible nieces and nephews.

What I Like About My Job: There are so many things, but one of them is that I get to talk with people from different walks of life every day. My show has no call screener, so I really don't 'know' many of my callers. Occasionally, I get to meet some of them out in the public. I have met and interviewed many "prominent" people, but much rather prefer a good conversation with a "regular schmoe" on the phone during the show or even sparking up a chat somewhere locally.

Favorite Activities and Interests: I love doing things with my kids and my family and friends. I love camping, or anything in the outdoors. Volunteering with different charities like the Appleton ELKS, and helping raise money for children's charities. I have a special place in my heart for Breast Cancer Research & helping to find a cure.

Favorite Music: If you listen to the show at all, you will soon realize that I like country music. But I also listen to new rock, classical, Sinatra, 80's, Polkas (Yes, Polkas...my mom was Czech/German, my dad Swiss/German/Norwegian and my entire family holds on to their heritage very dearly) really, just about anything. My "bumper music" selection proves that. You will also notice that by listening to the words in the songs I play in and out of the commercials, there may be a hidden message connected to the topics we are discussing.

Favorite Movies: I like cartoons. Having three young kids has made me really like cartoons, but I loved them before. I also love a great comedy, of the Leslie Neilsen, Adam Sandler, Dane Cook or Steve Martin variety, but any comedy will do.

Favorite TV Shows: South Park, Spongebob Squarepants, COPS, Boston Legal and any reality type show on Tru TV.

Favorite Books: I don't read a lot of books. I do read several newspapers a day online, looking for show topics and how I can relate something from somewhere else to our live here in the Valley. If I do read books, they are related to small business and other topics that may interest me.

Little known fact about you: My mom has always said that I would make a great politician. She says I talk a lot, have some great ideas, mean what I say and if am not afraid to push an idea I will stand behind it...unless and until I am proven wrong about it. Someday? Alderman? Mayor? Maybe. The 57th Assembly district looks tempting, too!

Anything else you think we should know: The struggles in my life have made me what I am today. I have a different and sometimes brutally honest perspective of the world. A warm rain and a good thunderstorm put a smile on my face. Being back home in Iowa on a warm clear night and watch the stars late at night. I love the peaceful feeling of a heavy snow late at night on a lonely country road in the middle of nowhere. I'm also a former Sunday school/bible school teacher. I have worked in MANY different industries, which has given me the opportunity to travel the country and meet a lot of people. I was in the bar business for many years and managed some large places, but I really hate being IN a crowd. Up front at a rock concert is NOT for me. Call me claustrophobic, maybe I am. I like to be an observer for the most part...then talk about it later.
