A tradition at EAA AirVenture continued today when about 100 Vietnam veterans left this morning for Washington D.C.
They’re on an Honor Flight to see the memorials in the nation’s capital.
Spokesman Dick Knapinski says they’ll come back at the end of the air show. He says about 40,000 people will be there to welcome them.
It’s the fifth year that AirVenture has partnered with Old Glory Honor Flights to honor Vietnam veterans.
They also took World War II veterans to the nation’s capital for a few years before that.
