The streets are open again in downtown Kaukauna.
The city rebuilt several of them, and widened the sidewalks.
David Strelcheck is the city’s senior project engineer, and he says the expanded sidewalks will be noticeable when people walk along them.
The city created the extra room for sidewalk cafes, and so businesses can set out some of their merchandise.
Strelcheck says they still need to finish building three municipal plazas in the downtown. He says that could take a couple more weeks.
