The city of Appleton will try to sell some equipment from the former system at the water treatment plant.
Utilities Director Chris Shaw says they don’t need the ultra-filtration membranes now that they’re using UV technology. He says they have about 200 excess cartridges that still have value on the market.
He says they hope to get more for them that way compared to putting the equipment on an online auction site like eBay.
Shaw says they haven’t been used yet, and they hope to get about $260,00 for them. He says any revenues would go to the utility and hopefully delay any future rate increases.
